The Meguro River Cherry Blossom Festival
History of the festival
In the 1970s, the mayor of Meguro City, Tokyo started this festival. He wanted more people to see the breath taking views of the cherry blossoms blooming in profusion. The people living in the area welcomed this idea. If it wasn't for the mayor, we wouldn't have this incredible festival.
